“LIFE’S EITHER GOING TO BE A GREAT TIME OR
A GREAT STORY. SOMETIMES IT’S BOTH.”

Dr. Maria Teresa Baldrich
PSYCHOLOGIST & POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW
My name is Dr. Maria Teresa Baldrich. I am a Clinical Psychologist and Post-Doctoral Fellow at CPP. I work with adults navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, perfectionism, life transitions, and questions of identity. I believe that therapy is more than symptom reduction—it is an opportunity to better understand yourself, develop more fulfilling relationships, and create lasting change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or simply searching for a deeper sense of purpose, I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely understood and supported.
My approach is rooted in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy while thoughtfully integrating evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) when they best serve your goals. Together, we will explore how your past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns shape your present life, helping you gain insight while developing practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and authenticity.
As a bilingual psychologist, I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and am committed to offering culturally responsive care. I believe meaningful change occurs within the context of a strong therapeutic relationship—one built on curiosity, honesty, and trust. I especially enjoy working with people who are thoughtful, ambitious, and curious about themselves but find themselves caught in patterns of anxiety, perfectionism, self-doubt, or unsatisfying relationships. Together, we will make sense of those patterns—not simply to reduce distress, but to help you live with greater authenticity, self-compassion, and connection to the people and life that matter most to you. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel safe enough to explore, challenge, and ultimately become more fully yourself.
My interest in psychology began during college, where I volunteered at a crisis hotline. After earning my bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, I completed my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) at the University of Denver, training with individuals experiencing severe mental illness, anxiety, OCD, and relationship challenges. I completed my predoctoral internship at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, where I provided psychotherapy and psychological assessments to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have allowed me to develop a broad and culturally responsive approach to therapy.
