Dr. Margarita Savchuk
PSYCHOLOGIST
Hello! I’m Dr. Margarita Savchuk. I believe that meaningful change begins in a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. In my work, I strive to create a collaborative and accepting therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly about your experiences and begin to make sense of your story at your own pace. Together, we explore how past relationships and experiences continue to shape the way you understand yourself, others, and the world, while also working toward the changes you hope to see in your everyday life.
I work primarily with adults and have a particular focus on young professionals navigating life transitions, single women making sense of dating and relationships in New York City, and men who may be struggling with their mental health or finding space to talk openly about emotional challenges. Much of my work centers on interpersonal relationships, identity development, and the emotional complexities that arise during periods of change or uncertainty. I also have experience working with children and adolescents, as well as in group and family therapy settings.
I draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and dialectical-behavioral (DBT) approaches, thoughtfully integrating these modalities based on each individual’s needs and goals. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I aim to meet you where you are while supporting both insight and practical change.
I earned my B.A. from Rutgers University and my Psy.D. from Long Island University–Post Campus. My clinical training includes work in university counseling centers, long-term psychiatric settings, and intensive outpatient programs. I completed my pre doctoral internship at the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House at Hackensack University Medical Center, where I focused on trauma and child maltreatment. I am deeply committed to mental health advocacy and value working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Such a wonderful person to work with; finding great progress in myself and l look forward to continued improvement.”
“Having considered therapy for some time, I finally took the leap. Dr. Savchuk has been extremely helpful in helping me to process and understand my emotions. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking.”
